Where her Passion Began


Born and raised in Winona, MS - home of the legendary Roebuck "Pops" Staples of The Staple Singers
DeNondrea grew up in a musically inclined family with deep Southern Gospel and Quartet Music roots. She
began singing at the age of 3, and was a self-taught musician.

Her Journey

​Her love for music grew throughout high school, from participating in the school Chorale, the Church Choir,
Praise Team, and singing in a Gospel Quartet group, Sweet Voices, co-founded by her sister and cousins.

She has served in the capacities as Minister of Music, Choir Director, Praise & Worship Leader, and Musician. Her style of music is Christian/ Contemporary.

Her Education

​Sims extended her music education after high school and is a graduate of Mississippi University for Women with
a Bachelor of Music Education with a vocal concentration degree. DeNondrea is also a graduate of William-
Carey University with a Master of Music Education degree and has completed post-graduate
coursework at THEE Jackson State University.
Rev. DeNondrea also serves as an Associate Pastor at St. Paul- Biloxi & Mt. Pleasant UMC- Gulfport.
Performing at the Gulf Coast Gospel Music Awards.
